Marcia DeMartini is a vocal and general music educator in the West Genesee Central Schools. Her choirs have earned Gold ratings at NYSSMA’s large ensemble festival and been invited to perform at the Syracuse University Multicultural Choral Festival as well as in clinic with Dr. Leo Nestor of Catholic University of America. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO, in 1999 and a Masters of Music Education from Syracuse University in 2006, where she served as assistant conductor of the Syracuse University Oratorio Society under Dr. Elisa Dekaney. In 2015, she completed her Level I Orff training at the Eastman School of Music. Mrs. DeMartini is currently a member of Phi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society, MENC, NYSSMA, and ACDA. She served formerly with SCC during seasons 2009 through 2013 as Assistant Director for the Junior Choir and Preludio Chorus. She lives in Fayetteville with her husband and their two sons.
Preludio & Kantorei Ensembles
Katherine Medicis has been teaching elementary music in the Syracuse area for the past eight years. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music education from Syracuse University in 2007 and 2009. On the weekends she works at St. James Church and St. Joseph’s church as a cantor and choir director. She has been a part of the Syracuse University Oratorio Society for many years and served as Assistant Director since 2013. Ms. Medicis completed her Level III Orff Schulwerk certification at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester. Currently she teaches elementary general music and chorus at Holy Family School. She has been involved with the Syracuse Children’s Chorus in various capacities since her internship with the choir as an undergraduate and is very excited to now have the opportunity to direct Kantorei and Preludio.
Young Men's Ensemble
Sky Harris teaches choral, general music, and marching band in the Liverpool Central School District, where she also directs the LHS Concert Chorale and Chamber Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Ms. Harris holds degrees in Music Education from Syracuse University, where she studied both instrumental and choral music. Ms Harris can be heard on the Summit Record Label with numerous ensembles. She has been a choral and instrumental clinician and adjudicator on the East Coast for the past 17 years and has traveled internationally as both a performer and educator. Ms. Harris regularly performs in several local choral groups and serves as Sweet Adelines’ International Youth in Harmony Program Coordinator. Ms. Harris is a member of the National Association for Music Education, ACDA, Onondaga County Music Educators Association, and the Barbershop Harmony Society.
Maryna Mazhukhova is a native of the Republic of Belarus and has performed in North America and Eastern Europe in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, the United Nations’ Dag Hammerskjold Library Auditorium in New York City. She has also performed at the Cincinnati Aronoff Center for the Performing Arts in Ohio, Montreal’s Place des Arts in Canada, and the Grand Hall of the Belarusian State Philharmonic in Belarus. Ms. Mazhukhova has been a recipient of many honors and awards. David Dubal, author of “The Art of the Piano,” “Evenings with Horowitz” and radio host of WQXR’s “Reflections from the Keyboard,” states, “Maryna Mazhukhova is a pianist of tremendous talent and seriousness, who plays with personal approach full of depth, poetry and feeling.” Since moving to the Central New York area in 2005, Maryna has worked and performed extensively as a soloist and collaborative artist. Her solo performances include concerts at Sacred Heart Basilica, the Oasis Center, Hosmer Auditorium at the Everson Museum and the Munson Williams Proctor Institute in Utica.

Jillian became a member of the SCC office staff in July of 2017. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, Jillian has stepped away from an 8 year career as an administrative professional with Laboratory Alliance of CNY to embark on a new career journey as the Director of Programs for SCC. She is currently living in the Syracuse area with her husband and two children.
